Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of our students, parents, and guardians. As the Principal of Sequoia Elementary School, I am excited to begin another year with you and look forward to continuing to build strong relationships within our incredible school community.
This year's theme is Rise Up. At Sequoia, we believe every child has the ability to rise above challenges, grow through perseverance, and become the very best version of themselves. We also believe that when we rise together—as students, families, and staff—we create a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Rise Up is more than a theme; it is a mindset. It reminds us to rise to challenges, rise in kindness, rise in responsibility, and rise in our commitment to learning each and every day.
At Sequoia Elementary School, we know that our greatest successes happen when schools and families work together. Your partnership is essential to your child's success, and we encourage you to be actively involved in school activities, events, and initiatives. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
We have high expectations because we believe in the incredible potential of every child. Our dedicated staff is committed to providing engaging, meaningful instruction that challenges students to think critically, solve problems, collaborate with others, and develop a lifelong love of learning. We are committed to helping every scholar rise academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our work is grounded in Sequoia's ROAR expectations: Respect, On Task, Accountable, and Responsible. We teach and model these expectations every day because they help create a safe, positive learning environment where all students can be successful. We encourage our scholars to show respect for themselves and others, take responsibility for their choices, remain accountable for their learning, and stay focused on reaching their goals.
Throughout the year, we will host a variety of events that bring our Sequoia family together—from family nights and student performances to community celebrations and special school traditions. These opportunities strengthen the relationships that make our school such a special place and remind us that we truly are stronger when we work together.
Open communication is one of our highest priorities. We are committed to keeping you informed about your child's progress, upcoming events, and important school information. Please never hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher, our office staff, or me if you have questions or need support. We are honored to partner with you in your child's educational journey.

¡¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 2026-2027! Me llena de alegría dar una cálida bienvenida a todos nuestros estudiantes, padres, madres y tutores. Como directora de la Escuela Primaria Sequoia, me emociona comenzar un nuevo año escolar con ustedes y continuar fortaleciendo las relaciones que hacen de nuestra escuela una comunidad tan especial.
El tema de este año es ¡Rise Up!. En Sequoia creemos que cada estudiante tiene la capacidad de superar los desafíos, aprender de las dificultades y convertirse en la mejor versión de sí mismo. También creemos que, cuando nos apoyamos y crecemos juntos como estudiantes, familias y personal escolar, construimos una comunidad donde todos se sienten valorados, apoyados e inspirados para alcanzar el éxito. Rise Up es más que un tema para este año; es una manera de pensar. Nos recuerda que cada día podemos levantarnos ante los desafíos, actuar con bondad, asumir nuestras responsabilidades y esforzarnos por aprender y mejorar.
En la Escuela Primaria Sequoia sabemos que los mayores logros se alcanzan cuando la escuela y las familias trabajan en equipo. Su participación y apoyo son fundamentales para el éxito de su hijo(a), y los invitamos a involucrarse activamente en nuestras actividades, eventos e iniciativas escolares. Juntos podemos crear un ambiente seguro, acogedor y enriquecedor donde cada estudiante tenga la oportunidad de aprender, crecer y prosperar.
Tenemos altas expectativas porque creemos en el enorme potencial de cada uno de nuestros estudiantes. Nuestro dedicado personal está comprometido a brindar una enseñanza dinámica y significativa que motive a los estudiantes a pensar de manera crítica, resolver problemas, colaborar con los demás y desarrollar un amor por el aprendizaje que los acompañe durante toda la vida. Nuestro compromiso es ayudar a cada estudiante a crecer académica, social y emocionalmente.
Nuestro trabajo diario está guiado por las expectativas ROAR de Sequoia: Respeto, Enfocados en la tarea, Responsabilidad y Rendición de cuentas. Enseñamos y reforzamos estos valores todos los días porque ayudan a crear un ambiente escolar seguro, positivo y propicio para el aprendizaje. Animamos a nuestros estudiantes a respetarse a sí mismos y a los demás, asumir la responsabilidad de sus acciones, ser responsables de su aprendizaje y mantenerse enfocados en alcanzar sus metas.
A lo largo del año escolar ofreceremos una variedad de eventos que reunirán a nuestra familia de Sequoia, incluyendo noches familiares, presentaciones estudiantiles, celebraciones comunitarias y muchas de nuestras tradiciones escolares favoritas. Estas oportunidades fortalecen las relaciones que hacen de nuestra escuela un lugar tan especial y nos recuerdan que somos más fuertes cuando trabajamos unidos.
La comunicación abierta es una de nuestras principales prioridades. Estamos comprometidos a mantenerlos informados sobre el progreso académico de su hijo(a), los próximos eventos y toda la información importante de la escuela. Si en algún momento tienen preguntas o necesitan apoyo, los invitamos a comunicarse con el maestro(a) de su hijo(a), con nuestro personal de la oficina o directamente conmigo. Es un honor trabajar junto a ustedes en la educación de sus hijos.

Estamos muy emocionados por un año lleno de aprendizaje, crecimiento, relaciones significativas y muchas oportunidades para que, juntos, ¡Rise Up!
