Good morning,

Yesterday, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day. Martin Luther King Jr Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr, an influential American civil rights leader.

He was a leader in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States. His most famous address was the "I Have A Dream" speech. He was an advocate of non-violent protest and became the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Remember, our focus for this month is caring. Caring students will be kind to one another. They will forgive others. Caring people help those who are in need..

Thank you and have a great week!

At Sequoia Elementary we believe that school is a student's first and most important job. Sequoia Bears are learning about more than math and reading. They are learning how to show up for school on time every day, so that when they graduate and get a job, they will know how to show up for work on time every day!
Sequoia Bears are getting ready to
CHANGE THE WORLD!!!
